USMAN "OZ" FAZLI

Attorney at Law

Born and raised in the New York borough of Queens, Mr. Fazli has a long history of studying and practicing the law. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, an interdisciplinary major focused on multi-level examinations of the law, Mr. Fazli went on to earn his Juris Doctor while simultaneously working full time.

While he has now founded a successful law firm where he aggressively and passionately represents his clients, Mr. Fazli started his legal career as a clerk at a medical malpractice defense firm. At a very young age, he handled the voluminous filing demands of the firm, pushed the mail cart around the office, and diligently picked-up fresh bagels for weekly lawyer’s meetings. He went on to serve as a facilitator in an Intellectual Property law firm, assisting the legal team in prosecuting satellite television thieves, some of whom were celebrities.

Soon thereafter, Mr. Fazli was hired directly by John Morgan, founder of Morgan and Morgan, one of America’s most powerful law firms. Impressed with his abilities, Mr. Morgan, nicknamed him “The Go-Getter.” In addition to receiving diligent training on handling a wide variety of personal injury cases, Morgan & Morgan prepared Mr. Fazli to take on unscrupulous insurance companies who thrive on denying claimants’ rightful compensation.

Mr. Fazli was then hired directly by W.C. Gentry, one of the country’s most reputable attorneys. Mr. Gentry is known for creating template for suing the tobacco industry on behalf of the State of Florida that gained national acclaim and resulted in multi-billion dollar settlements. His firm handled 8-figure personal injury and product liability cases. Working closely with Mr. Gentry over several years instilled Mr. Fazli with the aggressive, bulldog personality required to take on the big insurance companies without any hesitation or fear whatsoever.

Armed with more than 19 years of high-quality legal experience, Mr. Fazli has amassed an extensive legal background as an associate with law firms in Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. His mission has remained steadfast over the years; focus on helping victims—NOT big corporations.

Mr. Fazli is the epitome of a true self-made successful lawyer. He knows what it’s like to be in the trenches, a perspective he gained through juggling full-time, demanding jobs while attending school, and supporting his parents, his own family and jumping the hurdles of everyday life. Today, these hardships benefit and serve his valuable clients and allows him to empathize with his hard-working clients. Working with clients to help maintain their dignity as well as the firm’s integrity is the most fulfilling part of his job. Aggressively and passionately working to resolve client issues also gives him a great sense of satisfaction.

On the weekends, Mr. Fazli enjoys arguing with his physician wife on intellectual topics. He also takes great joy in playing Xbox with his dynamic, sassy, and intelligent kid while teaching her the law and how to advocate for others.

Mr. Fazli is licensed to practice in the state courts of Connecticut.

NIKKI MURPHY

Attorney at Law

A native of Massachusetts, Mrs. Murphy earned her Bachelor of Arts in just three years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she designed her own Music Business major through the University’s Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration program. Mrs. Murphy went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, Tennessee while also completing the Entertainment and Music Business Law Certificate program offered by the University. During her time at Belmont, Mrs. Murphy was a member of both the Entertainment Law Society and the Belmont University College of Law American Inn of Court. Concurrent to her academic responsibilities, Mrs. Murphy devoted much of her spare time to volunteering with Nashville Metro Animal Care and Control.

Mrs. Murphy’s interest in the law began long before her official enrollment in law school, namely in her role assisting a NIOSH certified “B”-reader radiologist expert witness with trial preparations for pending asbestos litigation lawsuits. In that capacity, she evaluated and compiled summary reports of various medical, radiographic, and legal materials.

During her time in law school, Mrs. Murphy interned with a professional sports league, where she assisted with the editing of player contracts, franchising and licensing agreements, as well as league policies and procedures. In addition, she held an internship position with a publishing company, in which capacity she worked to resolve copyright clearance issues.

After passing the Massachusetts Bar Exam, Mrs. Murphy has specialized in anti-money laundering, counterterrorist financing, and financial crime investigations while employed by a major banking institution. In this role, she interacts with and provides pertinent information to representatives of various law enforcement entities, including IRS-CI, the United States Secret Service, Homeland Security, and the FBI. In the course of her employment, Mrs. Murphy attained the designation of Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). In a separate role for a company specializing in personal injury and maritime claims, Mrs. Murphy has assisted with preparing clients for trial by analyzing and outlining an abundance of medical and legal materials. Throughout this span of time, Mrs. Murphy has also volunteered with the New England Innocence Project, wherein her duties have included preparing summaries of briefs and court decisions for publication in web-based promotional materials.

By virtue of her experience in the aforementioned positions, Mrs. Murphy has accumulated a wealth of expertise in the areas of financial malfeasance, personal injury law, maritime law, intellectual property law, entertainment law, and contract negotiations. A former employer of hers has attested to her impressive abilities and unwavering diligence by stating that “Mrs. Murphy is a highly intelligent, detailed-oriented, extremely organized and hard-working individual who takes her job very seriously.”

In her free time, Mrs. Murphy enjoys hiking alongside her husband, John, as well as her two dogs, Hemingway and Tennessee. She endeavors to travel as widely and as often as her schedule permits, and yet is equally content to savor a quiet day at home in the company of a strong cup of coffee and a good book.

Mrs. Murphy is licensed to practice in the state courts of Massachusetts.
